Dry Gas Seal

For sealing shafts of centrifugal compressors seals, dry gas seals have been used in the last decades with a dramatical rate, due to providing many benefits.
The main difference is, in gas seals lubricating oil is not used. hence there is no contamination in the system. furthermore, as there is no contact between seal faces while operating, friction, overheat and wear don’t exist anymore, which is a very useful innovation in technology specially in high temperature and pressure condition.

Operating Range

Working temperature: -150°C to 300°C (-230°F to 585°F)
Shaft diameter: 30 to 400 mm (1.18″ … 15.75″)
Sliding rate: up to 225 m/s (738 ft/s)
Pressure up to 430 bar (6,237PSI)

DGS highlighted advantages

No need to deal with contaminated oil in process

wear rate drops significantly because sealing surface is separated by gas

As there is no wet seal system‚ operational safety is increased

Less power consumption, as dry gas seals don’t need any oil circulation
